Assistance for VISTA Users 

For Easy MEET Manager and Easy TEAM Manager both track and swimming

BEFORE INSTALLING:

Do this FIRST:   click this LINK and follow the directions to turn of your UAC. 

Be sure you are logged in as the administrator.  

Be SURE you have the latest upgrade of Windows VISTA which should be an option on the Start         Menu (Windows Flag in lower left of screen).

THEN

Install the software

THEN

 Download and run (to run, just double-click the downloaded file) the file called Windows6.0-KB917607-x86.msu.  This will enable you to use the HELP choice within your EasyWare  program. Link is Below.

Download and run (to run, just double-click the downloaded file) the file called EMVistaFix.bat.  This will insure that a complete installation has taken place. Link is Below.

Locate the executable file (with the stop watch icon) in the EasyWare folder inside the  program files folder, right click on this file and RUN IN XP MODE.

When you start up each program you should be on the latest version as shown on the maintenance upgrade page on the web site.  Future upgrades should work fine by just starting the programs WHILE ONLINE since that is when it automatically check to see if new upgrades are available.

a.  Windows6.0-KB917607-x86.msu  (RIGHT click and choose SAVE LINK AS...)

b.  EMVistaFix.bat  (RIGHT click and choose SAVE LINK AS...)

If you see an error message like this: "Component "MSINET.OCX" or one of its dependencies not correctly registered: a file is missing or invalid". This is unusual but may happen when you first start the software.

 

    This problem happened when MSINET.OCX component is not installed.

    1. Download Msinet.zip

     2. Copy msinet.ocx into your Windows\System directory (Winnt\System32 in NT,         2000 and XP)

    3. Click Start and then click Run

    4. In the Open box, type       regsvr32.exe msinet.ocx     to register the file.

 

You may need to repeat with MSCOMM.OCX

     1.  Msinet.zip HERE

     2. Copy mscomm.ocx into your Windows\System directory (Winnt\System32 in  NT,   2000 and XP)

    3. Click Start and then click Run

    4. In the Open box, type       regsvr32.exe mscomm.ocx     to register the file.
